Since its founding by Carl Gutzwiller in 1886, his descendants, partners and employees have successfully developed the bank – a journey of evolution and innovation, navigating economic and market challenges.
Major milestones – In 1886, E. Gutzwiller & Cie, Banquiers became a founding member of the Basel Stock Exchange that evolved into today’s SIX Group (SIX Swiss Exchange AG). The bank is still an active shareholder today. In 1930, the Bank contributed to the establishment of the Bank for International Settlements in Basel.
